Preface

Welcome to the harbor of my games, applications and music. Most games are in spirit of early 1980s creations. They feature simple graphics, depth, challenge and expect to develop skills or exercise the brain.

I provide HTML5 versions of the games for online play and for download. They should run in all common browsers, e.g. Pale Moon, Waterfox, Firefox, Opera and Chrome. Most of the games require WebGL.

Regarding mobile devices, e.g. found Hyperactive Soccer 2, Hyperactive Tennis and Curse Of Zipfelmuetz running nice on a Android tablet. Used Chrome browser, keyboard connected via bluetooth or USB OTG and fullscreen (button below render area).

For some games I also provide Android versions for download which I update rarely. I recommend the Android version of Peace Conference.

Make sure you read the License.

Regarding applications, find the Beppigames Sequencer here. Its a portable Linux application for composing music. I wrote it as internal tool but, who knows, might work for others as well. To give you a picture (poor comparisons): Regarding functionality think of the Nintendo Korg M01D applicaton. But entirely different otherwise. Add in some Novation Circuit workflow (sessions, scales) plus a vertical pianoroll with playhead moving in tracker direction. Finally make it entirely keyboard driven (midi keyboard is supported) like Goattracker and give it a toy like OpenGL (ES) gui reminding remotely of C64 trackers. There you have it.

Music

Below find tracks I have made with a Novation Circuit. Also find one created with the TE Arcade PO 20. The tracks are sorted in chronological order descending.

If you wonder how these tracks were done:

Used no DAW, for most tracks the default patches and samples and of course the rubber keys. Played out all the songs with this script. For the tracks Pond Hockey Theme, Black Belt 2, Kung Fu Fragments, Howgh, On To New Shores, Nocturne Fuze, Black Belt, Pig Race, Eruptions and Contentedness I used the great "Big City Great Decay" patch set from here (YT) (used old bank from dropbox).

For the track Witches Ways I also used an ELZ_1 (hoping device develops with further updates). Put the audio recordings together in Audacity. The tracks Behold The Cat, Witches Ways, Hey HeyHeyHeyHey Hey and Witching all refer to Zipfelmuetz as theme (see game above).

For the tracks Workout, Solace, Ahoy, Red And Blue, Crusader, Speedway and Ultimo Itinere I used the "George Hall Collection For Circuit Vol. 1" from http://www.opencircuit.uk. Those were great patches but now the site seems gone. At least the wayback machine has one snapshot.

To download the music files (ogg) just right-click on player, then "Save Audio As...".

Find a selection of the tracks on the videos page.

Notes on recording: I record the music from the Circuit into a Zoom recorder, then apply a volume adjustment with normalize-audio (Linux), then, if necessary, cut out silence at begin or end, and finally export to OGG with Audacity. And thats it, no additional reverb, compressor or edits. I finally check the result with a pair of studio headphones. So for best results I recommend listening with those.

Meanwhile I retired the Circuit (which did a great service) and now use my Beppigames Sequencer (all songs from year 2023 on).
